Terms of Use and Sale

The rules for using this site and buying from it.

Plain-language version: Notes and Reports are free to read and link to, but they're educational, not advice. Toolkits are paid digital downloads for your own or your organization's internal use. Purchases are processed by Link, Stripe's merchant-of-record service, whose refund and consumer-protection rules apply to the sale. Details below.

Who we are

This site, postclassicalsecurity.com, is operated by Howard Poston ("we"). These terms cover using the site and buying from it. They work alongside the Privacy Policy, which covers personal data. Paid products are sold through Link, a Stripe service that acts as the merchant of record; see "Buying a Toolkit or Extended Edition" below.

What the content is

Everything published here — Notes, Reports, Toolkits, and the files that come with them — is educational and informational. It is not legal, financial, investment, tax, compliance, or professional security-engineering advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset, including cryptocurrency.

Security guidance depends on your environment, so test and verify before relying on it. We try to be accurate and to cite sources, and we correct errors we're told about, but technology, standards, and regulations change, and we don't promise that anything is complete or current.

Using the content

Notes and Reports are free to read. All content is copyrighted and all rights are reserved, with these exceptions: you may link to any page, quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back, and save or print a copy for your own use. You may not republish a full Note, Report, or Toolkit file elsewhere, sell it, or present it as your own. Product and company names mentioned belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.

Buying a Toolkit or Extended Edition

  • What you get: each product's page describes what's included. Prices are set in US dollars (USD); checkout may show an equivalent in your local currency.
  • Who sells it: purchases are processed by Link, a Stripe service that acts as the merchant of record. You'll see the purchase as "Sold through Link", and Link sends your receipt and invoice. We never see or store your card number.
  • Tax: where sales tax, VAT, or GST applies to your purchase, it's calculated at checkout based on your location and shown before you pay.
  • Delivery: once payment is confirmed, your files are available immediately — on the confirmation page and in an email from us to the address you entered. Please check that address carefully, because it's where your files go.
  • Before you pay you'll be asked to agree to these terms.

Your license

When you buy a file, you get a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for your own work and your organization's internal purposes. We keep ownership; you're buying a license, not the copyright. Link processes the sale, but the license to use the files comes from us. You may not resell, redistribute, or publish the file, share it outside your organization, or build it into a product or service you offer to others. If you'd like to use something that way — in client deliverables or training, for example — contact us first.

Refunds and problems

Because Link is the merchant of record, its refund and consumer-protection rules govern the sale — including any cooling-off or withdrawal period that applies where you live. Link may also issue refunds under its own policies.

  • A problem with a file: if a file is defective, won't open, or isn't what the product page described, contact us and we'll fix it or refund you.
  • Refunds and order questions: you can email us at support@postclassicalsecurity.com or contact Link support about your order, receipt, or a refund — either works.
  • Your legal rights: if the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived, those rights apply regardless of anything here.

If something goes wrong, please contact us or Link before disputing a charge with your bank. We'll reply as soon as we reasonably can, and most problems are quicker to fix directly.

Availability and changes

We may update, change, or withdraw content and products, and we may correct pricing or description errors. The site is provided as is and may occasionally be unavailable.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, the site and its files are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits, data, or business) arising from using them. For a paid product, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Using the site responsibly

Please don't try to access areas you aren't authorized to use, disrupt the site, or submit its forms to spam or harass. If you find a security problem, tell us through the contact form instead of exploiting it — we'd appreciate it.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a material way, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. A purchase is governed by the terms in effect when you bought.
